People who struggle with chronic joint pain want to understand what they are dealing with. Often, in the case of hypermobility disorders, diagnostic tests turn up normal. Or they have tried numerous different types of medications for their headache or migraine.

Those who come to me refuse to give up on finding answers and solutions. The Physical Therapy assessment on your first visit will help identify the cause(s) and source(s) of the problem.

After your first visit you will have a clearer understanding as to how to maximize your body’s ability to heal whether it is through:

Medical Exercise Therapy,

Manual Therapy, and/or

Mindful Awareness in Body Oriented Therapy strategies.

My Physical Therapy sessions involve a thorough, extensive examination and evaluation. 

1). NECK (and TMJ)

 

CERVICAL RELATED DISORDERS:

  • Hypermobility Syndrome
  • Sprains/Strains
  • Pain/stiffness
  • Cervicogenic Headache
  • Cervical radiculopathy (arm pain)
  • Myofascial pain
  • Disc herniation
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Arthritis and stenosis
  • Spondylolisthesis, Spondylosis

OTHER:

Jaw pain (TMJ strain/sprain) related to neck issues

2). HEADACHE (and MIGRAINE)

Headache may be related to a neck condition referring pain into head or face (a pain mechanism called Convergence via the TNC or Trigeminal Nucleus Caudalis). 

 

  • Cervicogenic Headache (headache coming from the neck).
  • Tension-type headache (if not a migraine disorder).

3). SHOULDER and ARM

  • Rotator Cuff sprains
  • Shoulder tendinitis /bursitis
  • Elbow injuries (Tennis Elbow, Golfer’s Elbow)
  • Adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder)
  • Chronic shoulder pain (post-surgery)

 

4). LOWER and MID BACK

  • Lumbar/Thoracic sprains/strains
  • Lumbar Radiculopathy /Sciatica
  • Lumbar disc herniation
  • Arthritis and stenosis
  • Lumbar instability/Spondylolisthesis
  • Degenerative disc/joint disease (DDD, DJD)

5). HIP

  • Matching footwear to foot/injuries (shoe analysis)
  • Mileage Recovery Schedules
  • Race Training Schedules
  • Cross Training Schedules
  • Running drills
  • Running form (client to bring in video recording)
