Oswego Physical Therapy Clinic
People who struggle with chronic joint pain want to understand what they are dealing with.
Often, in the case of hypermobility disorders, diagnostic tests turn up normal. Or they have tried numerous different types of medications for their headache or migraine when a portion of their pain is related to a neck condition referring pain into head or face (a pain mechanism called Convergence via the Trigeminal Nucleus Caudalis).
Some have been to numerous other practitioners. Those who come to me refuse to give up on finding answers and solutions. The Physical Therapy assessment on your first visit will help identify the cause and source of the problem.
After your first visit you will have a clearer understanding as to how to maximize your body’s ability to heal whether it is through medical exercise therapy, manual therapy, or mindful awareness in body oriented therapy.

“Hans at Oswego Physical Therapy Clinic is really the only PT I would recommend. The fact that he is deeply rooted in using a holistic approach to bring about healing, plus his vast knowledge of the human body with the incorporation of meditation and massage, makes him a truly amazing physical therapist.I have been dealing with chronic headaches and back pain for a few years now and even after seeing multiple chiropractors, it did not resolve the issues, or really give me any answers. Through Hans’s techniques I have been able to find relief as well as ongoing healing. Thank you Hans. You are a true healer!”

Hans is the best Physical Therapist I’ve ever had, and his approach is markedly different from all other PTs I’ve had over the past twenty years. I have degenerative arthritis and have had extensive experience with other therapists/therapies over that period. All of the therapists I have seen before created as much pain as they alleviated, and most of them were very similar to my experiences as an athlete in weight training. It was a mentality of “no pain, no gain” at all of the PT clinics I have visited. I would see a licensed therapist for fifteen minutes, after which I was assigned an aide who accompanied me on the same “circuit training” as my coach or an athletic trainer had previously. With Hans you get an entire hour with he and he alone, and there are no aides who are pushing you to work harder and/or increase the weights and reps on the machines. He also incorporates therapeutic massage, which provides much more relief than anything I’ve received at other physical therapy centers. I cannot more highly recommend anyone more qualified than Hans to help with pain relief, healing, and rehabilitation.
It’s unfortunately rare to find a physical therapist who will incorporate treatment methods beyond the current limited constructs of western medicine so I was truly grateful to find Hans. Where many others I have seen in the past would have prematurely rushed me into the usual exercises, risking long term damage in my case, Hans instead recognized that I had experienced too much prolonged chronic pain and that first we needed to retrain my brain and injury to rediscover sensations other than pain through light massage, then we could proceed to exercises. It was a revelation. While I was familiar with studies being done on the technique I really didn’t even know it was possible for me to experience anything other than pain. He has helped me develop a new relationship to my injury that is blended with pragmatism and progress. Before you can get strong again you have to heal, and Hans wisely includes the healing process in his treatment. He is also a joy to converse with. Can’t recommend him highly enough!
Hans is amazing at his job! He’s extremely knowledgeable, a great listener and he will figure out exactly what your specific issue is and come up with a plan to correct it. I have multiple injuries and I’m currently working with Hans weekly and I’m already feeling stronger, more flexible and in less pain. Hans is well rounded in his approach to wellness and therapy and I appreciate his bed side manner very much. I feel completely comfortable working with him and I appreciate his expertise I would definitely rate Hans as the top physical therapist in Portland, Oregon He is a 5 star therapist
